Thumbs up 05' CRV Coolant change, advice needed..

    Hi guys,

I noticed the coolant reservoir was really low so though I'd best top it up. Then I noticed the coolant in the system was green, instead of blue, which I thought Honda used blue coolant...Question..

    1. I purchased the car back in Jan 2016 and not too sure when the coolant was changed last.. so I'm thinking, full drain cooling system, flush with distilled water then re-fill with Blue coolant.. or..

    2. Just top up with green coolant..

Thoughts I'm having though is.. not sure if it originally had Blue coolant and maybe the previous owner (or mechanic) topped it up with Green (mixing colours I hear isn't a good thing) .. or whether it came with green to begin with..

    Advice ?

I have changed from Green to blue.

    No problems mate.

Blue is basically green with the added protection against few more things from memory.

Mixing blue (Honda) and green is OK but it should be properly flushed and the same type used throughout.

Mixing green/blue with red ( on some toyotas / isuzus etc) is a big nono
