Question Question regarding the performance of the B18C2 in the Vti-r

Sorry i'm really new to cars (I'm only 16) so excuse this post if it's a simple answer or completely stupid.

I've noticed that the quoted stock horsepower for the B18C2 engine is 170-180hp, but in this thread (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/archive.../t-129022.html) people come up with 119 horsepower at the lowest to 126 horsepower at the highest in a completely stock Integra Vti-R at the Dyno. Even aftermarket Vti-r dyno runs come out at 138 to 166 horsepower which is no where near the Honda's specs.

Is 50-60 horsepower really lossed through the driveshaft, flywheel etc? Is this 170-180hp figure completely false, or is it because of the engines age and km's it's driven. If in the case of it being because of the age and km's would rebuilding the engine cause a dramatic increase in power ?

    Cheers

drive train losses are unfortunately a reality mate - it gets worse with an automatic gearbox!
    - not removed by choice! - waiting for the next update to the saga
