    K24a3 engine swap

    Hi Guys

    I've posted a couple of questions about swapping the k24a3, but after giving it some more thought, I'm wondering, can the accord euro ecu be made to easily run in stand alone mode, ie: if it's connected to the k24a3 but not the accord will it even be possible to get it running.

    If not, is there an ECU out of another Honda that can?

    I'm gathering info for putting it into a rwd kit car.

    Hi Lloyd

    Thanks for the link. I contacted the guy offering those for sale and he said no dice with the aussie ECU.

    I've decided a f20c conversion will be cheaper. The engine will already have a RWD gearbox and the ECU is easily used. More up front cost with that engine but all the "Extras" I would need with a k24a3 are already included.

    It's a shame as I'll be missing out on VTC, but in a car only expected to weigh 550kg when finished the missing midrange torque shouldn't be a huge problem.

    As in, it won't work with our ECU's?
    fml there goes my plans.

    You won't need the midrange with the F20C. Have you thought about an American F22C?

    Applications: Works with 2001-2004 K&D ecus - PLM, PLR, PND, PNF, PRA, PRB & PPA

    Unless it is one of these it doesn't work. I'm not sure if those relate to any aussie ECUs.

    I'm still collecting info for my project. The engine and gearbox are central to the design, so until i get those, the project wont be going anywhere.

    The F20c ecu can be made to run pretty easily in standalone mode, the Accord appears to be a complete PITA to use. I'm guessing that's why I cant find anyone successfully using one. Its a shame as the k24a3 would of been a great engine.

    Using the f20c means I'll be in the under 2litre class for most of the racing I'd be likely to do with it, so proabaly not a bad move.
