    i weighed my 5th gen

stumbled across a weigh bridge at a quarry ( i had to go there to pick up a vehicle)

So i put my car on it. with me ( 100kg) , a 1/4 tank of fuel, 17's, stereo gear etc it weighed in at 1440kg.

the specs in the book for a 5th gen accord are around the 1290kg mark.... but you cant go by anything other than a weigh bridge.

kenny, your h22a accord is an exi and mine is a vti so i have a sunroof, not sure how much that adds in weight, plus ive got stuff like cruise control...it all adds up.

Id be interested to see what my car would weigh if i stripped the boot of its trim, spare wheel, sub, amp, swapped to stock wheels, remove back seat and passenger seat and run it near empty........

id then go to the drags lol.

Weights quoted by manufacturers are meant to include a full petrol tank:
    1 litre = 1 kilogram

The tare weight isn't the kerb weight -- the tare weight is without any fluids, etc.
Kerb weight is what's normally quoted, which should be a "standard" car with all fluids and no extra options.
The gross vehicle mass is the total that the car can weigh -- fully loaded with people and gear, including a trailer.

Holden got in a bit of trouble because it started declaring tare weights instead of kerb weights to make it look like the cars weren't as heavy as they really are:

i always thought fuel has a specific gravity lighter than 1kg per litre, can anyone confirm or deny this?
