    Question: Euro security system

Can someone tell me how the standard security system works?

Is the horn used as an alarm?
Does it automatically arm itself and lock the doors? I found that my Euro sometimes locks itself and sometimes not.
Will the alarm be triggered from movements or only if the doors are opened?

    Thanks!

with euro this is what ive found with the auto locking

lets say u drove ur car and u take keys out of ignition...and forget to lock the car. In this case, the car will NOT automatically self lock.
It will self lock however if you already locked it first, unlocked it and forgot to lock it again......THEN it will auto lock.

Personally I havent heard the horn or watever the security is on the euro myself either so im curious to know too

Interested in hearing about the security.....

In regards to autolocking will only happen if you unlock the car and no door is opened. Any other time (that is once door is opened) it won't autolock incase you left your keys on the seat or somewhere else inside.

this is what happens.......if you lock doors with remote but unlock with key the alarm will not sound as it recognises the chip in the key..but if you lock with remote but unlock by pulling up the lock from inside the car the alarm will sound..
    there is no movement sensor.
horn is used as alarm noise.

i suppose if you want to find out how the alarm sounds, just sit inside it, lock with the remote, wait for everything to be locked and armed, then unlock door manually and open

I remember that it uses the car horn as there is no siren in the car.....

using the car horn only is not the best as thieves can easily cut the horn wire and voila no more noise.

I believe the doors auto lock 45 seconds after you unlock and dont open the doors.

also for some strange reason, the alarm horn has a different (weaker) tone than the normal horn

A little off topic, but the pdf file at the following link didn't rate the Euro's security system on MY04 very highly. I'm not sure if the security system of the Euro improved with the MY05 model and whether there will be futher improvements with the MY06 update.
