Civ 1.5 Twin Carb D15B4 Help

My problem is that in the mornings when i start my civ, my car idles weird, stalls, backfires. I have to wait like 10mins so i can drive off with out it stalling, even afta that it backfires and clags, i hav to hav my foot on the gas or eles it will stall. but after 20mins or maybe even longer it runs fine the whole day, untill the nxt morning. When i changed sparks it runs fine for 2-3 days and then the prob comes back, i've done this a couple times and works but only for a few days then it starts claging again. I think my car is running rich, as i run out of petrol quickly 300km on a full tank. What could be the problem?

its quite normally for carbyz to run rough on cold starts ... once it warms up its should b fine ... dats why some old cars got the manual choke

The carby has an automatic choke which should be doing the same job as a manual choke. It might be common but it's not necessarily normal for it to run that rough.

Possibly it's running too rich then fouling the spark plugs. When was the last time you looked at/replaced the air filter. Maybe just take it to a carby specialist. You can find them in the yellow pages and it shouldn't cost too much at all for them to do a tune on the carby.

    hey

i used to have a same problem .. well .. the thing is ur Carby needs to be warmed up every morning about one Cigerette timing.. and if u got that stalling problem it will be fuel pump or ur feul filter problem .. go auto barn and get a Electric Fuel pump , it actually helps the fuel pushing into the engine.. it also will gives ur car a good response .. as well when u do it.. change ur feul filter as well .. if ur from brisbane i can help u a bit

I had this problem too on my carb... tuned up the carbs worked fine.... although i did 200,000 clicks on the engine... needed a engine rebuild and a carb replacement lol... waste of money get a new car...

    TUNE UP THE CARBYS

Mines dual carb and it starts first go every go. Sounds like your distributor.
