on a k20a/a2 pump you don't shim it you replace the spring with a stiffer spring, part# 9657K116 from McMaster-Carr, I've got a batch of springs that should be here in the next week or 2. http://forums.clubrsx.com/showpost.p...6&postcount=26

I'm also gonna run the oem Honda 15400-PCX-004 oil filters instead of the normal small Honda filter.

To do the spring mod to K series. While the motor is in the car.

    1. Remove oil pan

    2. Remove the LN key bolt where the spring should reside.

    3. Clean oil pan and dry fit the old sump gasket or get a new one.

I'm really hoping I dont have open the timing chain cover. That would be a pain in the arse. Specially when I just paid for that happen.

The LN key we need to open is shown in the pic above. Under the gear of the pump facing towards us in the pic and inline with the blue dot. But it will be facing the exhaust side while in the motor?

Can someone please confirm this for me.

As we can see in the pics below, the pan removal should give me access to that bolt which I think houses the spring I need to replace?

Any input from a si fu would help.

this thing OP *tuned* is a bypass and does not increase oil pressure @ some revs (at low - definitly not)
I wonder @ what revs this bypass starts to drop pressure?
