hi ecu man im hoping you could help out with this problem im having .you see i fail the emission test today, i was told its due to the knock sensor cel code on .( i did the immo bypass using p2p ecu form a d16y8 96 coupe ) carefully using your instruction . went for a drive the cell light came on .. checked it ...knock sensor .is there another way i could disable this ? ive tried several knock sensor no joy ...i figure there's must be something ive done wrong,im now looking to go d16y7 or d16z6 if i cant solve it.
i must add that my civc ek3 import originally had a d15z5 before the swap to d16y8.in the uk 96 civic carries the immobilizer in the ecu ...before ...
    what you suggest i do

Hey ECU-MAN. I'm a new member and it looks like I can't send PMs yet.

I'm trying to fix up a friend's 1998 Civic. The model might be what they call EK1—sorry, not sure. I need to bypass the immobilizer in the ECU.

The ECU type is P2K. Will your DIY mod work on this unit? If not, is there some other way to get past the problem?

Hope you can help me—thanks for your time.

I did receive your PM. I have replied to you with a bypass PCB option

this DIY does not work on the P2K ECU as its a totaly different type of ECU

JDM DC2R ECU does not have a Immo so plug and play

however you must disable the EK Immo module if your not using the EK programmed Keys

you cannot bypass the immobiliser on that ECU with this DIY, as mentioned on the first page you need a bypass module if you have a different ECU to that of the DIY.
I can provide a Immo Bypass Module, PM me for more info

you are obviously not in Australia

I vouch for this method. P73 ITR ecu works like a dream now.
Definitely recommend doing this at the beginning of any swap.
