The Y8's head was designed for better bottom end power, while the Y1 has better highend power.

when does the vtec kicks in?

    D16Y8 1.6 16VSOHC VTECII PGM-FI 1590 127hp@6600rpm
    D16Z6 1.6 16VSOHC VTEC PGM-FI 1590 125hp@6600rpm
