i just found out i got Y1 motor in my vti, what is the difference between the two???

so theres no real mechanical difference? you'd think they would update the engine a bit
The Y8's head was designed for better bottom end power, while the Y1 has better highend power.
Y1 was also in the EH9
currently onda-less...but i do have an Evo 6.5
I got Y8... It only got intake variable valves only... when does the vtec kicks in? D16Y8 1.6 16VSOHC VTECII PGM-FI 1590 127hp@6600rpm D16Z6 1.6 16VSOHC VTEC PGM-FI 1590 125hp@6600rpm Someone mention that the Z6 is D16Y1 (edit typo)
