    225/45 on 9" wide rims?

    hey guys,

    im not too sure or cant find the information if 225/45 tyres will fit on 9" wide rims?

    considering selling my tyres to someone else and his asked me if it was possible. thought i'd get some more insight from them more knowledgable.

    225/45 were really designed for 7" wide wheels, so in short, not really. thas 2 inches less that what is needed.

    ive always thought there was a lee way.. and that tyres have a certain stretch in them.

    i fitted 205's on 7" if that helps '???'

    my personal opinion.. yet it would fit, but i would at least put a 235 on a 9" will.

    It will fit, just be stretched.
    I had 225/40 on a 9.5" rim so it can be done.

    I would think 225s would be about max you could go on a 7" rim!. Like someone above said, for a 9" rim you should be looking 235s minimum i reckon.
