Nankang NS2 vs Falken fk451 vs Kumho ecsta supra 712

    hi guys
i need your advice regarding tire selection

    I own a 2005 civic 4 doors model
and i am using an 18 inch rims

since the car is lowered the two tires on the back kinda wear out in the inner side

    i previously used falken fk451 215/35/18
after getting an advice from a mechanical shop
that tempetyres provided the cheapest tyres on sydney i then went to tempetyres
    www.tempetyres.com.au

they had 3 215/35/18 profile tyres

    1) Nankang NS2 AUD150
    2) Falken FK451 AUD175
    3) Kumho 712 Ecsta Supra AUD200

after dealing with the salesguy in the counter he advised me that the kumho are superior than the falkens which i had previously and the kumho is more expensive that the falkens
so i trusted the guy and opted for the 712 kumhos
however after doing some research on the net

    such as ctyres.co.uk
    it provideds that 215/35/18
    nankang ns2 = gbp70
    falken fk451 = gbp78
    falken fk452 = gbp79
    kumho712 = gbp84

    the same goes here
    http://www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/tyres...ile=35&size=18

    however in this forum
    http://www.landsharkoz.com/tt/ttwheels4.htm
    its an american based one
    it quotes that
    US$ SR UTQG TYRE
    $69 WR 340 Kumho ECSTA Supra 712
    $90 YR 280 Falken GRB FK451

    and here
    http://www.1010tires.com/tiresearch.asp?submit=yes
    for 215/35/18
    the kumho is 126.99 usd
    falken fk 451 175.99usd
    falken fk452 159.99usd

i was wondering whether tempetyres in sydney gives me the wrong pricing and advice?
which one is better the kumhos or the falkens?

need advice since i only changed the 2 rear tyres
and will be changing the front one soon

Different tyre shops get different deals with different tyre manufacturers, so it’s impossible for them to have the cheapest tyre in all ranges, it all depends on who they have contract with and who’s their biggest supplier.

you also can't really compare prices that tyres are in different countries to what our prices are here. There are different shipping rates, tax's, etc.. that all come into the equation with bringing tyres to other countries.

Personally I do not like nankang, came with some wheels I had once and they were crap (probably the bottom of the range nankang, but turned me off them forever). I would go the Kumho's I have heard good things about them, although I have never tried them before.

Just ring around various tyre shops trying the get the best price. You will find that the price varies a lot between different stores, coz as 'xtercii' mentioned, some places get better discounts than others.

The Kuhmo ecsta 712 is not a bad tyre and would get them over the falkens and nankangs if there was not much of a price difference.

really you prefer the kumho 712 instead of falken fk451?
the kumho k31 that was offered is a superior tyre compared to the 712...
should i get that instead of the falken fk451?

the Nankang NS2's are better than FK451's. i've used both quite a bit and wont be getting the Falkens again. Yet to use the Kumho's, might try them out next time.
