    hey guys, im confused about the EG's...what's the difference between eg3, eg5 & eg6? is it engine wise or somethin'? ops:

    EG6 is the only one to consider. It was a 170bhp B16A powered Civic hatch that we never got. Its official designation is SiR/SiR II

    Yep EG5 is the SOHC 1.6L VTEC engine D16Y in the VTi civics

    ummno - eg5 is DOHC 1.6l NON-vtec D16A8...aussie spec of the zc.

    Or known as the aussie delivered Si , in hatch and sedans...

    The JDM lineup is that EG3-6 are hatchbacks where as EG7,8 and 9 are sedans. Sedan for this period also exists as EJ1,3 and EH1.

    HBs
    EG5,6 are B16A (1600 cc)
    EG3 is D13B (1350 cc)
    EG4 is D15B (1500 cc)

    Sedans
    EG7 is D13B (1350 cc)
    EG8 is D15B (1500 cc)
    EG9 is B16A (1600 cc)
    EJ1,3 and EH1 are ZC (1600 cc)

    I promise you I have a VTi and it's an EG5...

    ok, let me explain somthing, the EG5's came into australia in 1992-93 were Si, civics the ZC motor, from 93ish-95 i the EG5 became the VTi civic.

    thats why you both know the EG5 as Si, and VTi.
