So how does it actually perform compared to not having it?

"takes the 'sponginess' out of the brakes" - do you mean when you stomp on the pedal it won't be... soft anymore?

They work great when it comes to feel but i read somewhere that it causes the shock tower to flex changing the geametry of your suspension under brakes.
I think on that goes from the chassis rail to the MC will stop that.
Dont get me wrong i like them just a few thing to think about.

I should have been more specific
It makes your brakes Firm as.Now I have 100% more confidence to get on my brakes hard because they will be there, real firm, solid.
It makes a world of difference.Without it I was considering a big brake upgade but $$$.
This $150 item of ebay solved that problem .
I remember when I saw it on here the guy who had it on his car said he now has complete confidence to go down the steep hill at the national park knowing his brakes will be there if he has to stop suddenly.
    No sponginess,Zero Firewall flex,100% Improvement.

Is that a bad thing... I'm a bit unsure what you mean

It doesnt add stopping power just feel.
The strut tower sheet metal flexes cause its attached to the stopper. changing the geometry of your suspension.(suspension attached to strut tower)
But for most applications its great so dont worry just something to look out for when racing but it does an amazing job of improving feel.
Top little product though how much and where any links.

brake stopper are no substitute for a brake upgrade, they are only there to reduce firewall flex during very harsh brakings. it only makes the brake more responsive and that's all it does. brake line pressure & clamping pressure still remains the same hence braking performance does not change at all!
