    DC2 Steering Wheel

For 95 DC2, what options do I have for a new steering wheel?

My one is old, and is peeling/cracking is grey and looks like shit. It's plastic too. DC2R leather would be nice.

Obviously I need to keep the Air bag.

Will a 2001 DC2R Steering wheel go straight on? What about CTR? Can I legally swap the DC2R Steering Wheel onto it? Will insurance/cops care?

    Thanks

I think the question most will ask is; do you have an airbag?

refering to your post. i'd assume u have an air bag in the steering wheels.

to do it legally, u have to replace one wth air bag, which leaves u not much aftermarket choices because most (if not all) aftermarket steering wheels dont come wth air bags.

wth oem steering wheels. DC2R shud fit ur DC, CTR wheels will not fit unless you modify it.

    correct me if im wrong.

all DC's in Oz came with SRS afaik.

Anyway the only logical swap is a 98-00 DC2R SRS wheel. EK9 wont fit.

The reason I ask is because I heard there is a difference between the two airbags used in the 95 DC2 and the 01 DC2R?

is it a big or hard job?

can you take it to an auto electrician or something or must it be done yourself?

alternatively, there's a dude from toyota soarer forum that will retrim your steering wheel in custom leather and you can pick red stitching and stuff...

    Can I rebump this.

No one has answered if the 95 DC2 VTiR wheel is the same as 01 DC2R ITR wheel and if it's a straight swap?
