think about the power to weight ratio. losing the weight on the car is far more better then trying to increase the power. and it doesnt cost a cent to make your car faster by stripping it yourself.

If you want a fast car, you want a good power-to-weight ratio. You want lots of power and minimal weight. So the first place to start is by cleaning out your trunk!

Think about power to weight ratio.
My car originally: 850kg, 118kw: 7.20kg/kw
After being stripped: 750kg, 118kw: 6.35kg/kw
So if I didn't strip my car, for me to get the same power to weight ratio I would need to get about 135kw, another 17kw over original. Thats headers, high flow cat, cat back exhaust, muffler, air filter + more.
For good parts thats over $3000 + installation
It cost me a day and $0 to strip my car.
-
stripped hatches own imo.
im jealous trev lol
-
every 45kg you took out from the car it will gain 0.1 or 0.2 down the 1/4 mile.
-
0.1 to 0.2... thats still rpetty good
what about 0-100km wise?

couldnt have said it better!!
ekslut is your car road registered?
and btw, i know you need to register the car as a 2 seater if you take out the back seats, but is there anything to say what you NEED in your car. besides a spare and a jack. can a cop defect you for not having plastic mouldings, roof lining, or centre console for example??
-
Yes it is road registered. But I haven't gone to get it engineered yet though (still not finished). But I will get it engineered as a 2 seater, and with the new engine.
I think you can be defected for not having plastics. but it depends on the cop. I have the rear of my old EK4 stripped and a cop never said anything when they saw it.
I need to find a engineer to see what I do need in the car, but I wouldn't think that you would need plastics, console or roof lining.
