    Exclamation ek best swaybar setup

im just curious as to which would be the optimum swaybar setup for ek.
a 22mm(ek1) front and upgraded to 22mm(ek9) rear
    26mm(ek4/ek9) front and 22mm(ek9)rear
    or
    24mm(aftermarket) and 22mm (ek9) rear

from what i heard are positives about all three setups, anyone with experience of them tell any difference? i know if the front is big understeer and if rear is big oversteer, but which one do you think is optimum setup?

there is more to the handling of the car than just swaybar setup
but naturally the 22mm front and rear will give you more easily obtainable oversteer then the 26mm / 22mm setup

yeh i know theres alot more to handling than swaybars, but swaybars are a main part of improvement.
iv heard of ppl even spinning out with the 26mm + 22mm combo, 22mm +22mm would be too much oversteer??

    its how you drive it
if you cant control your throttle off oversteer properly then you will spin.
if you unsettle the car you can spin.

if you have coilovers, that will make the car more predictable to drive at the limit (track) and doesnt snap as much

there are so many thickness options for the whitelines ones.
a thicker rear can allow you to drive with your foot more on the gas but obviously if you throttle off at the wrong time you will get the tail out.

go the 22mm rear unit first straight off the bat.
whiteline have 18/20/22 kits for the rear
it wont give you any problems combined with a 22mm front.
if you dont like it you can always get 27mm whiteline front.
    but the rear first.

I have the 22/22 combo on my EK1 sedan + ASR at the rear,I'm on stock shocks (100,000km) and kink low springs and it's very good.Need coilovers though...in a month or so then I'm almost ready to track my slow Y4 automatic, haha

Iced is on the money, get the rear 22mm and you will notice a major difference, and if your still not happy try a 24 or 26 on the front... isnt there a 23mm kit for the rear as well?

the ITR 98 spec in japan , came with the 23mm rear swaybar. It is hallow tho as opposed to solid. This can be used with a EK , ASR brace.

asr also do a 22mm, 24mm and 32mm hollow race bar. i've had in the past 24mm front 22mm rear all whiteline in my ek hatchie and was perfect. more lean towards oversteer but easy cure for that is power on understeer. just be careful trying to stop mid corner = tail step out.

i think the 24mm f 22mm r is street but like the ek9 the 26mm front and 22mm rear would create a neutral ride and the easiest to point and shoot
Is this the end of my car modding days? Buying a house says so...

This is for hatchie but how about a sedan?

With stock spring rates you'll still be under steering off the charts with a 22mm rear sway bar. Just because you can generate oversteer with some fancy maneuvers does not mean the car is even close to neutral steer.
