    QUICK QUESTION .. prelude auto

My mate has 1999' model vti-r prelude.

    It's trip-tronic.
His looking at putting extractors but not changing the exhaust as it'l sound shit becoz of the auto. is it worth the money for just extractors??

what performance mod's can he do, that wuld make the car performance alot better?

    thanks heaps in advance

if his thinking of seriously modding the car i suggest him get the manual conversion 1st... a stock manual vtir will still beat a tiptronic vtir with i/h/e (no ecu tune) by a fair bit. a mate of mine did 15.3 in the 1/4 in a stock vtir lude and my other mate did a 16.1 in the 1/4 with a tiptronic i/h/e so yeh... bang for ur buck is probly get a manual.

a conversion will be 2 expensive so mite aswel sell the tiptronic and try get a manual for a bit cheaper so he'll have excess money to probly get i/h/e

well i'd put an exhaust but u said your mate doesnt want that drony noise.
and without an exhaust there isnt much else you can really do. for performance wise anyways...

more air flow = more power
and the basic modifications to gain a bit of power is I/H/E intake headers exhaust.

my mate said his wants a proper CAI

    so yeh ..

if he doesn't want the exhaust because its auto, get the extractors, custom b-pipe and keep the stock tip

or weld the ITR muffler onto some axleback piping to fit onto the b-pipe

this will free up the airflow without the sound of a loud exhaust

well u can either get ebay stuff or good stuff.
    jdm yard is your friend.
    or in the red.
those two places will hook your friend up with a CAI.

for the CAI, buy the injen CAI

its a good bang for buck CAI, it should be easy enough for you guys to do it yourself as well
