yes it will . It will also get him a BIG fine from the EPA or police if he is caught on the street. It is illegal to run without a cat in OZ

YEP, agreed! Thats why they're called race headers. Its funny when cars get sent to EPA for tests and they always rock up with a new cat or exhaust? Police will send a secret letter to the EPA to get the car tested.

sorry guys but there is no emissions testing that i have heard of in perth, on my civic i used to have a straight through pipe, cops looked at it all the time and never picked up nothing, maybe there trained differently over east.

Anyway guys why do most of you not answer my question, i didn't ask bout cops or fines, i asked about error codes/ check engine light. just to add there will be a piggyback ecu also.

    Thanks

you get engine light come up called CEL i think. You need to buy a defouler that goes on your 2nd C02 sensor, you can get them from strutking.com for dc5 you need the right angled one

Apparently its a $10,000 Fine on the spot not having a cat....sounds like a lot...but thats what the cop said to a mate....but gave him a warning instead.

    Back to topic.

Yes you will get an error code as there is an O2 sensor tat plugs after the cat. You will need a test pipe (which is basically a pipe with a hole for you to plug you O2 sensor in) in order to avoid this.

the race headers have a spot for both sensors, before and after the flex pipe.
