8000 k hid high beams faulty

My HID low beams work but when I try to turn on high beams from low beams, it just turns off the low beams completely instead of activating high beams. So essentially I have no high beams.. Any suggestions?

Car is a honda civic 97 coupe.

high beams were working previously though for 7 months, all of a sudden this problem came up. Could it be headlight relay?

was going to say maybe you only got single beam and not high beam HID. but seeing as you said it worked a few months back yes probably relay. try put in stock bulb and see if they can highbeam.

it's both sides. Found a thread which I can follow instead of replacing the whole relay, http://www.saab9000.com/procedures/e...lamp_relay.php

Yeah, good idea. Will try that tomorrow. If it works then it's the relay.

    As above, check the fuse..

When you turn the highbeam on, can you hear the relay clicking ?

Yes, there is a very distinct click when I turn the high beam on, but doing so switches off the light completely.

    Check your ground wires.

There should be 2 plugs on your harness for your high beam, they go into the 3rd wire in your HID bulb. Try plugging it into the other one if you know what I mean ?

Can you explain that in simpler terms? Don't quite understand
