and what gain's do you get from it, compared to a B18C?

you will be using a vtec head.. rather than a vtec block..
the engine number will be the number of whatever block u originally used..
so if you're using ur existing b18b, it'll be b18b

You don't need a vtec block. The whole point is to retain your B18b block and fit a vtec head from a B16a or B18c.
    Plus the golden eagle kit.
It's usually called a LSVTEC conversion.

Gains vary depending on setup and tune.
If you search "lsvtec" you will find plenty of info

you get the extra torque (if there is any) of a non-vtec engine matched with a vtec kick at 5k. If u do it rite with better pistons+rods+crank ie typeR (basically raise compression) and you work the vtec head, you will get some awesome gains

price you will be looking at is
$800 shipped for the block (as i couldnt just find a complete head that someone would sell to me)
$300 for the golden eagle kit
$150 i think for the APR head stud/bolts whatever
$180 for the OBD1 vtec ecu.

    and yeh. + 500-1000 labor =P

    have fun dude.
