DIY fitting dc2 armrest console into eg hatch

Disclaimer: The following is provided as a GUIDE ONLY, and neither myself nor Ozhonda take any responsibility for the outcomes of someone else doing the following. You follow these steps at your own risk!

Aim: to have somewhere your arm can rest while driving

    Required:
    - dc2 armrest
    - phillips head screwdriver
    - flat head screwdriver
    - scissors / snippers / stanley knife
    - 10 minutes

    Steps:
    1. First pop open the tab thats covering the screws that is on the stock handbrake cover with your phillips head screwdriver

    2. Unscrew both screws and washers

    3. Remove stock handbrake cover. (you might have to slide and fiddle it out as i forgot how it came out the first time i did it)

    4. Once the stock handbrake cover is out you need to look at the teeth near where the screws go in. The dc2 teeth are wider plus they have an extra level compared to the eg handbrake cover

    5. Take your scissors / snippers / stanley knife and cut the dc2 plastic as so it mirrors the eg teeth
the outlined parts in red are the parts u need to cut out

    6. Test fit the dc2 console to make sure it sits in properly, if not take out again and cut until fitment is good

    7. Once you're happy with the fitment bolt in the dc2 console and replace the cover

    8. Finished ! now your arm has a place to rest while driving plus you have an extra storage compartment

    Other comments
It would probably have been easier to get an EH sedan armrest but i got the dc2 one for a good price so why not haha

The fitment of mine isnt that flush but it doesnt really bother me and the side of the seats touch the top armrest but again not a big deal as the armrest lid and the seats can still move freely.

    thanks for reading !

    Agreed

Also the Dc2 ones appear spammer (heigh wise) then the EG ones which may help those that are taller
