    Sat Nav upgrade software

We have a 2006 Euro Luxury with Sat Nav and want to get an idea of a price for an upgrade of the sat nav software. Also, do we need to use a Honda dealer upgrade or can the upgrade be done with a 3rd party disk such as from Sensis if available.

It has to be a Honda supplied disc. I believe the software that drives the GPS system also controls the audio unit, a/c control, and the calculater/calendar. The DVD is in UDF format and contains the boot-time code, and presumably the maps database.

Hi jolo have the same car, looking at the poweredby.whereis.com the disc is around $300.00. And I believe it is just a matter of sticking it in the DVD slot.
I dont think it updates the look of the maps just the map information??

Been very happy with my car and sat nav and looking to upgrade to the new chunkier beast lol

Guys, do you know if there is a way to stop the message coming up (you need to select OK) each time you start the car up? If you don't the screen eventully goes black. It's bloody annoying.

No, there isn't. People tried to do in the US by "hacking" the satnav software, but they never managed to get very far with it. The only thing they could realy "hack" was to change the start-up logo (no, it's not applicable to the AU version - different software).

You should be able to just start up the CD Player or Radio and then use NAV if you want to. In the CL9 the NAV always starts up first and hence the warning is displayed every time you start the car (and must press OK.)
