Hi all, i ended up getting the Alpine 9886 and i am impressed on the performance in SQ and SPL compared to my stock hu.

I cant quite narrow down to the difference between the 9887 and 9886, so far the only difference is that the 9887 comes with 24bit and more equalizer bands and the 9886 requires a processor to activate 24 bit.

I rate the 9886 even though its my first hu

The 9886 doesn't have the 1-bit regulated Burrbrown DAC and the inbuilt imprint . But yea i've heard the 9886 and for most car setups its quite decent. iPod ready, bluetooth MODULE ready and the fact that its not bad build.

out of curiosity, what does 1bit and 24bit sound like in the vehicle environment, can you really tell that much when your engine is running? i guess with fuel prices going up or staying up it makes good sense to turn the engine off and roll down hills listening to 24bit
