    Common Issue Register

    Ill Start, Keep the same format and copy the above to add additions.
    Make sure these are common OEM defects/weakness

    Gerneal EK/EM/EJ
    • Door lock mechanism breaking when after market motor is install for alarm
    • Spiglot bearing making whirling sounds on b16's after about 70,000.
    • Hand brake cover towards the back is spliting on base (check your car. ive seen it on 100% of cars so far)
    • AUDM factory weather shields fall off as they are just stuck on.
    EM
    • Driver Seat. Premature wear on the base. (rib is rubbing) seen it on 3 cars
    • Interior light is crap. Slider is defected (even after replacing it at honda)
    • Cup holder only holds can and macca cups.. size is non adjustable

    Is there any recall's on the ek models?

    i've noticed some parts of the interior is very rattely. door lock handles rattle too.
    not being a smart ass... but is that what vtec feels like? turning the aircon off?

    FD - front windows not closing correctly. for rectification see your dealer and they'll fix it under warranty as there is a bulletin on it.

    i found a few Ek sedan has issues with rear speaker shelf rattle... seems to be a common thing to me.. took mine off awhile ago... 2 of the clips there broke off... and they looked pretty weak to me...

    same for mine. but silicon spray seems to have fixed the problem for me... its been 6 months since i last used taht spray ... still going well.

    CV Joint Boot breaks (outer drivers side)
    D Series Dizzy problems

    Also the window and windscreen rubbers seem to shrink over time more than other models due to soft rubber used.

    FD = 'new' civic

    it's a common issue. they made a revised window glass to rectify the problem but that didnt really work... now they have released/will release a modified bailey seal to rectify the problem

    it's very very common with the 06 civics

    Any '07s have this problem?. Mine's good so far
