    I dislike a few things in my new 6MT standard Euro;

    1) The standard sound system is lacklustre (and I'm certainly no audiophile), I was surprised to find it is not upgraded in the Lux model (unlike Mazda 6).
    2) I had a persistent rattle from the centre console, turned out to be the cupholder clip when it is stowed. Leaving it released even when the compartment is closed fixed the problem but its a design fault.
    3) DBW is jerky at low speeds. I can smooth it out by shifting extremely carefully but haven't had to that in any other car.
    4) Low speed ride is a bit firm especially on crappy Adelaide roads but not a big deal really.
    5) Steering feel is ordinary, especially compared to the Mazda 6.
    6) Oh and with the DZ climate control, I'd like to be able to turn one side off.
    7) And finally, the 16" wheels look diminutive on the Euro. I think 17s should be standard on the base model with 18s on the Lux.

But like most people here, overall I'm rapt with the car. For what it is and what it costs, it's an exceptional all round package.

About my MY07 Tourer I dislike...

    1. When doors are locked and you arrive @ ur destination, you have to manually unlock your car so you and your passengers can get out (my previous cars unlock as soon as you open the door from inside)
    2. The factory sound system is almost crock shit
    3. Almost impossible for me to slap in a MP3 headunit since Satnav DVD Din unit takes place
    4. Glovebox not aligned properly (although a common issue ffs get it fixed already Honda)

    End rant :P

I drive a '03 Euro, one of the first batches that arrived in Australia, you know... 16" rims... however in my own opinion she still has a beautiful body, and the metalic grey reflects it like nothing better in the dark

    anyway... the cons..

-the Dunnies are way too noisy
-rims are too small, dosn't match an agressive looking, wide body look-a-like shell
-only a lil vtec at 6k, basically dyno shows it's already dropping power slowly while it's reaching redline, then a lil vtec kick and that's it, but it's good enough
-wish the semi-auto responded much quicker to gear changes - yes i drive an auto...
-false tacho, dosn't even take me to 260 :P
-stability control kicks in at unwanted times, glad there's a switch for it

can't think of more, it's a good car in my opinion, but some downsides

Most of the cons mentioned is just nit picking to be honest.

When comparing the price of the car with others available you really are getting alot of value for your money.

In my opinion if you are after more power or quality u should be expecting to pay alot more than what the Euro is going for.

My previous car to the Euro was a '94 E36 318is and after that the Euro is amazing.

The bimmer had the power of a yaris, the quality was pathetic, every seat had ripped at the seams, there was enough rattling in the cabin to push me on the verge of insanity and anything that could go wrong with the engine did plus service and parts were at least twice the price of any other car.

While there are some things on the car i consider needs improving u altimately get what u pay for.

A family member of mine has a 96' CLK230 and at almost 3x times the cost i cannot see the same value for money as the Euro.

Im not having a lot of issues:

    Only :

Slight Drone/whine in gearbox under acceleration. Looked at and acknowledged by dealer but not bad enough to be fixed. Common im told.
Gearbox got stiff but they flushed the manual fluid under warranty and fixed it.

Otherwise pretty good. Not many noises or issues. Ive only done 36000km in 2years.

The cars very good for the money. This BS above about comparisons is worthless. You got to look at a similar car and similar money. Theres nothing that touches a Euro. That being said I would NEVER have considered a Euro Lux asit was too much money for leather, which was all I was after. And at the $42 000 price point theres a LOT of good options. ( bear in mind I own a brand new CRV lux 07, so its not the money, but the value that concerns me, Euro standard = Awesome Value, Euro lux = Average Value)

I had a Mitsubishi TJ sports 02 5sp auto new before it and it was a decent car but 3 gearboxes blown by 50 000km and non existent mitsu customer service. 10 weesk without a car all up!

Im loving honda service and reliability frankly.
All cars have issues. I can live with the honda ones.

Agreed that the standard is awesome value, however the great value argument did come into it for me with the luxury also. I found it hard to get a car that drives like the Euro (BMW was my only competition in this department, in my mind) that comes with all the luxuries for below $50K. I'm a sucker for the luxuries such as sat-nav, rain-sensing wipers, Xenons, heated electric seats, sunroof, etc. Honestly, I couldn't have a car without such things now. Although I know most other people don't feel the same, that's just me, and that's why I chose the Euro Lux. It basically came between a fully-optioned brand new Luxury with sat-nav or a 2003 BMW 325i (the best 6 cylinder available in manual - bar the M3) in black with M-sport seats and bodykit. Sometimes I think about the 325i, but I'm still glad I got the Euro.

after spending 5hours yesterday detailing my parents mazda 6 luxury... the euro is definately the better car! quality of the interior panelling is far superior on the euro... i was amazed at how cheap the 6 felt compared to my euro... yes there are some things that the euro could have done better, but for its price, youd never get any better!

slightly off subject i know... but i had to stick up for the euro :P
oh and talking about build quality, i was looking in my mates BA mkII XR6 the other day, and holy sh*t theyre bulid qualtiy is bad! you can actually see the off cuts on the inside door handles where they were taken out of the molds, they look like where the two halves of an easter egg are joined! and i mean the plastics use feel like chinese take away containers!

i got quoted for both std and lux and there was 4k difference, 4k for leather, seat warmers, sunroof, bigger wheels, and other bits and pieces i think is worth it.

my bro has a mazda 6 lux a well, totally agree with interior quality of euro is heps better, seats are also alot better, even with the bose sound system i dont think it was much better then the euros, i aint a head banger or a doof doof so i dont need full ball music. i wouldnt even begin to compare falcodores to jap quality.

$4K difference between the Std and Lux?
Are you sure man? Std manual retails for $33,990 and the Lux Man is $40,990?

But I guess if you pay cash then the figures might be a different story..
I paid $35,300 drive away for my Tourer last month; I shoulda got the Luxury

    Anyway back on topic
    - Went to the motorshow and had a real good inspection on the build quality of other cars within the $35K price range, let's just say Euro > Holden Astra. But I don;t like how the Euro's headlights don't turn off Automatically...

positive mate, the girl wanted all the other stuff i didnt rather mind apart from the bigger wheels and spotties, but for 4k extra i gave in. i got mine through leasing through work, leasing company have good buying power.
i have never owned a commodore or a european car so not having the auto off feature doesnt concern me, the audible warning is enough so the battery dont go dead.
