thats the drive shaft boot... it happens through wear and tear.. nothing too drastic..
take it to a mech and get it replaced... the part would only cost $50 if that... and labour maybe another $50..
thats the outer CV boot. get it replaces ASAP before u damage your driveshafts.
yes this happens very quickly when u lower ur car heaps, its normal for it to happen. i have to replacee mine wihtin next 2 months before it splits as well.
the parts cost about 25bux form repco, labour for someone to do it will cost about 50 each side.
I'm surprised that nobody has pointed out that now with the boot split, dirt and grime has entered the CV joint.
Which means you have to clean all that crap out and put some new grease. Not as simple as just changing the boot.
exactly that, you must clean out everything inside there.
to check your boots, take off your front wheels, look at your drivshafts, its these long things which connect your hub to the gearbox. Each of these shafts have 2 boot seals, the inner (which is the boot closest to your brakes, and the outer which is about 20-30cm away from your inner closer to your gearbox.
check your driveshaft boots for any cracks around in, peel back the rubber where it folds and look inside there as well.
****NOTE****, if your doing this at home, PLEASE use jack stands, DO NOT trust the standard jack that comes with your car or even a hydrolic jack, MUST HAVE jack stands, goto supercheap auto, repco or something and they always have specials on jack stands and u can purchase a pair for aaround 30bux.
no idea.. tyre factory couldnt do it with their "PITTED aligner"
pedders shock their heads..
its shocking..
my middle muffler is gone..
