i just upgraded from a old 96 corolla hatchback as well :P
Its because the seats are flat in the corolla, and dont hug you when sitting in the seat like a euro for those sharp bends.
Plus the rear seats are positioned further back when opening the doors in the corolla compared to the euros.

But you gotta admit for long road trips the euro seats are much more comfortable.

I love almost everything about the euro, handling is spot on, the car is extremely well made, easy to cruise in, has all the creature comforts and good looks

But I'm not liking the power and power delivery! Coming from a modded S14 200sx is kinda painful

I hate the fact that the seats can warm my ass but can't scratch them.

I hate the pricing and the standard equipment for the price... imagine if you can get all the gadgets (like the one you get on KIA Optima - reverse cam, pano roof, etc) for the standard price...

And Japan just happens to be in a coma for 10 years..

Remove the badge and put the 2 together. The only thing euro would be better is that is avail in manual and it's got better tyres.

these big tyre companies (Bridgy, Michy & Co) have factories all over the world (cheaper labour a big factor)...

but, the origin of Bridgestone is Japan, see:
