    Ingalls Engine Torque Damper

I installed an Ingalls Engine Torque damper this weekend and I am very happy with the results. One of the reasons I picked this unit was that I did not need to cut a hole in my exhaust heatshield to accommodate it.

Overall impressions are very good - much better shifting with notchiness in gears significantly decreased. Installation was super easy - 20 minutes if that.

Overall, a great bang for your buck mod.

I got a question. Does it actually have a damper in there??

Hmm. Because ive bought one off eBay, and i opened it up just to sus it out, and it has no damper. Its just a brace for me. Weird.

Ah, I see. That would have been disappointing.

I bought mine from HeelToe & they have an option for brackets only -

Perhaps they offer two versions as some people may want to relocate an existing damper.

The ones I have seen only have a hard plastic insert in them. I wasn't expecting an oil or gas damper but thought this was a little more show than go.

As for braces, damn you have every one under the sun!

LOL - actually, it does look that way with my brace obsession, doesn't it :-)

The Whiteline chassis brace (the gold one seen under the oil filter) was a great upgrade.

I am very familiar with the Whiteline. Have had a couple, and a Spoon before that. Always said I prefer the Whiteline because it is lighter, doesn't get in the way of oil changes and looks prettier, which is appreciated by road kill.
