So much zinc in that oils it'll rival redline for protection.

Redline does have a higher flashpoint due to its full Group 5 base compared to a group 4&5 mix in the Penrite.

can you please create a list of the oils and which category (group 3,4 or 5) for us noobs so we can relate to when purchasing?

As much as I want to, the oil companies rarely display the type of base stock they are using and it's usually a mix.

But as a general rule, unless specified on the bottle, the cheaper synthetics Shell Helix Ultra/Castrol Titanium etc are group 3, even then there's rare exceptions depend on oil weight, for example, 0w40 synthetic oils normally require a good portion of group 4 or 5 in the mix to reach that grade.

So it's really complex sadly. But whenever a brand actually displays their base stock as group 4 &5 (Redline/Amsoil/Mutol/Penrite), we jump on it if its a good price.

Damn, was hoping for some 10w30, which seems rare in Aus for some reason.

For older engines. At least that's what the manual suggest. 5w30 also works, but they recommend it for 25° down.

Is "Racing" oil alright for everyday run around cars (like our Euros)?

I would say so. "Racing" stuff are usually made to much lower tolerances, and is designed to deal with much higher stress and temps. Rated for higher mileage as well.

... Or you could get Penrite Racing 5w-30 from repco right now for slightly less per liter.

And not having to deal with international shipping.
