Emergency - 3 and 4 pin alternator plug

    i have 2 OBD2 harnesses..

I have a 4 pin harness and need to hook it up to a 3 pin alternator..

I have a spare pulg which i am going to depin or solder..

all the wires match b.w 3 and 4 pin with an extra green/white wire on the 4 pin...

What is this green/white wire? do i need it..

The green/white wire is equaivalent to the white wire on the OBD1 motors..

    What is it?

    thanks peples

    Do you mean white/green wire?
If so,that is the alternator control wire.
The ecu controls the voltage regulation with this.
Whether it is essential,I shouldnt imagine so,but prob would create finer tuning of the voltage regulation if you use a alternator which is capable of it instead.
