    tightening crank

Hi all.. I need to tighten my crank back to spec..

I have been told that i can just lock a wheel, place the car in gear and tighten crank...

It seems i can move the crank and the wheels wont move whilst in gear..

    any other ideas?

put the dipstick in the spark plug hole (after wiping it clean) and watch it go up and down as you turn the crank,

to tighten the bolt, turn the crank clockwise and after the dipstick goes fully up then fully down, insert the rope... then slowly turn the crank until you feel it...

make sure it has a good "hold" in between the piston and the cylinder head, if it feels weird, turn it back and start again... hard to expalin that bit...

just "be aware" that you don't want the rope to interfer with the valves (i have never expericence this, but it *could* be possible...)
