Isn't that the thing like Spoon made that goes on the bottom of the engine to strengthen the mounting points that hold the bearing caps in place? for Spoon, it let them build a 12000rpm B16B! would not think they are interchangeable as I think the bearings mount slightly differently between those engines.
Bearing size won't really matter, that's all inside the caps and if you machine the crank or line hone the mains then the bearing changes, but not the cap as far as the girdle is concerned. Main cap size is what matters, the mounting points and the pan depth. I haven't really tried to interchange girdles from one car to another, we just buy the one on the part list unless we CnC it.
Shouldnt they be the same with same cranks-shafts?
Ie - B16 crankcase can accept B18c crankshaft, and B18c can accept B20 crankshaft so they must be interchangeable... I think the bearings have different inner diameters?
This is what I always assumed with similar cranks in interchangeable blocks.
i got the b18c girdle on mine not shure it it had to be modified but i dont think so it should just bolt up they are simular blocks
not shure what comp i'm running i had almost 300psi in each cylinder but going to redo the head soon cars off the road for the last 4 months
i got CP pistons in it
