make sure its in gear properly - sto , put it into 4th slowly , then pop out and place slowly back into R.
Shift linkage might be slightyl out of whack / alignment - how are your engine mounts ?

bennjamin has a very good point regarding the engine mounts.

In my previous Corolla, going in reverse was very rough and the engine seemed really noisy. After replacing the left and right engine mounts, the car became very smooth, going forward and reverse.

    My engine mounts are fine...
the gear once moving is also fine.. just the balancing of the clutch on take off (in reverse) sounds alittle rough.

    It is definitly in gear
