2007 Accord (CM) Air conditioning woes.

    Hi Everyone.

Not sure where to post this, but I was unable to find this issue in the search section. Anyway, here goes...

The air conditioning in my 2007 Honda Accord is playing up at the worst time possible - sweltering summer. It has a tendency to intermittently work as of a couple of days ago, before this everything was fine.

I was sitting at the lights one day with the climate control set to 20c and one minute the air con was great, next minute it gradually got warmer and warmer. After a while I pulled over and restarted the A/C after a few minutes off and it worked again... a bit later down the road, the A/C died again... by this time I got home already and it was late.

The next morning I tried again and the A/C was great - no issues! I took the car to the mechanic anyway and when I got there, the A/C was fine, so the mechanic sent me home - waste of time.

Today I take the car out again and A/C works for about 5 minutes and won't reactivate anymore, even after shutting the car off and waiting for a while. Tonight I took it out in the cooler breeze and it's not producing any cold air... at all.

I'm not sure what's going on here, but I set the system to 20c or low, with A/C on as I have done for the past 10 years.

When I turn on the A/C I hear a clunk which indicates the relay and A/C clutch is working, the radiator fans all spin up as it does when the A/C fan is on, but all I get is room temperature air.

My question is... could my A/C compressor unit be dead, or maybe I'm running low on A/C gas? Someone also suggested a dead climate control temperature sensor?

    Thanks.

Also a dead compressor tends to seize meaning when you turn the aircon on the engine would stall. I have to concur with the others its sounds like low gas which might mean you have a leak as well.
