View Full Version : NSX rims on a Civic?
A few questions guys, dont know if they can all be answered.
Ive been thinking about how new WRX rims look pretty good on older WRXs and even older liberties.
Going along the same train of thought have any of you seen NSX mags or clones for sale in Australia and how much ? (Hopefully they wont be half the cost of my car :D )
Would they come in a size that would fit a civic and do you think it would look any good ?
I want to get rims for my civic but dont want chromies. I like the look of the NSX's rims (being the flagship Honda production car) and would like something different also.

What do you guys think ?

I also think they would look crazy...
But your also going to be up for some expense getting them to fit, firstly civics have a 4 stud pattern and nsx have a 5 stud pattern, then im guessing them NSX puppies are quite wide, so note sure if you going to have problems there...
but if its them exact nsx rims your after, im saying good luck finding them here!

1) they will cost MORE than your car.
2) they wont fit - wrong stud pattern.

You could do a 5 stud conversion, a few of the guys who've done the b16a conversion have got the 5 stud on their EGs from the ITRs, enabling ITR brakes to be fitted.
The conversion is a pretty expensive one 1.5k ive been quoted but then again like VTEC said, if you can even fk'n FIND them rims, they will cost u 2 arms and 2 legs, and thats just for one :P
lol, thanks for replies guys.
I knew it wouldnt be cheap for originals and i noticed the 5 stud/4 stud difference, i should have stressed the 'clones' part of my post and said in 4 stud patterns.
I didnt think about the wideness so another thing to think about.
Anyone seen anything similar ?

You could try for a 4 spoke ITR and use those rims? they look sick on a civic..
and before i get flamed ill post a pic and show you all that yes some JDM ITRs are 4 stud... im not sure which tho, perhaps series 1? correct me peeps..

This was taken from a JDM dc2r parked next to me in boxhill.. used my 3 fone so excuse the poor quality
Id kill for these babies on my eg :D
JDM ITR 4 spokes aren't 4x100, won't fit on civs, still need to do a conversion. I fthat was the case better off getting 5 lugs
Hmm the ITR rims arent quite what im after.
I like the look of the thicker spokes found on the NSX rims.
Im more after the 'show' rather than the 'go' on my civic :)

you always b differnt and try fitting nsx wheels but then you have to do the conversion which will cost a arm and leg

as cool as it sounds to have NSX wheels on a civic
its not worth the trouble
as everyone's stated youll need 5 lug conversion
then youll have 2 different sized wheels (16x7 , 17x8.5)
with RWD offsets :/
or if u do find some NSX wheels, maybe you could get them redrilled?
type one

Oh my bad, i thought all 4 stud integras were 4 x 100
Was the first dc2r ive ever seen with 4 stud, n the aus spec dc2 (not type Rs) are 4x100 i jus assumed it was the same...
my bad! =)
Chuck them on a gen4 prelude then :D
cant u just be happy with a NSX gear knob?
If you can find me one that will fit an auto t-bar stick then yeah ill be happy :D
Actually, can you get aftermarket gear knobs for autos ?

I know you can for the manual style shifters where the button is ontop of the stick, but for the T-style ones i doubt it...havn't seen

yeah try dc5 rims

I wonder if u can fit the manual style onto a Tbar stick.
I assume that all the button does is release a lock, maybe there is something out there where u can convert the stick to use a manual style knob with the button on top.

To be honest i have no idea :D
There isn't really a market for it so thats why there is bearly any available..
But yea you could be right about the lock and mayb some DIY could make the manual style one work on ur T style? Give it ago
I know when im with my friend and he takes his mums commodore for trip to the shops or somethin he doesn't even use the lock release and shifts as if it were manual.. chucks it into N at lights, gears down etc...
No idea if its ruining the gearbox or what, but couldn't care less.. its a commodore
appreciate the comments.
I dont have the time atm to go modding my baby. Still trying to pay the thing off !

90 model NSX standard wheels are very boring 5 spokers...
I think only the later series wheels are anything nice... and since the later model NSXs aren't popular, they would be ahrd to get
I'd suggest anyone that wanted them head over to NSXPrime and price a set, then get them sent here via sea freight
