Hi guys,

Just wondering whether anyone has attempted to put 6 or 6.5" speakers in the rear of an EK civic where the stock 6x9s are. Personally i believe that 6s give a better sound quality than 6x9s and i view 6x9s as only necessary to provide bass. However i will be putting in a sub so i dun really need the extra bass from the other speakers. I'm thinking of maybe making up a little spacer out of mdf or something to try and reduce the whole from the oval to a nice round one.

Any suggestions/comments??

Cheers

yeh i sorta have a couple of ideas, i just wanna see if its been done before so i know what to look out for...as for the hpf idea, i was thinking of trying to mid pass filter them so i could take away a little bass and also take off the extreme highs as well to give a nice ambient rear fill.

yer its been done. what i meant was if you're gonna band-pass the rears then it really doesnt matter if theyre 6x9s or 6.5's, same result in the end. maybe as well get 6x9s, straight fit and no hassle of making a spacer. up to you.
