hi guys. im a uni student and i just bought my very first car last week.
honda accord euro luxury! 09 model in volcanic grey.
im very excited. ive been lurking on these forums for months reading up eveyrthing you guys have been posting. and now that i finally have my own euro i want to make it look purrtty (and "rice" as some of u call it)
my problem is that im a total car noob. i understand that theres a noob forum, but my question is more specific for euro. forgive me if i posted incorrectly.
where do i actually get body kits and where can i go in the sydney area to install them?
i understand some of you use ebay, but other sites you guys use always seem to be american or even japanese. i dont really want to import anything and especially not japan at the moment (exchange rate lolz). is there anything locally that a noob like me can easily and afforbably get kits?
im specifically after the mugen body kit. although the posts ive been reading about it seem to be quite old. im not sure if its still suitable for the 09 model cause the stock looks way different from some of your ones.
my second question is, do i just go to any random mechanic and they can fix me up and install eveyrhting? im a bit paranoid about being ripped off and im also worried about how long it will take cause i dont wanna be without my car for very long. any reccomendations for places to go around sydney would be great
i dont really need performance mods cause its just my everyday car to get from A to B, but i want it to look awesome hehe.
anyway, if anyone could point me in some right directions id be really greatful
thanks for taking the time to read my post. :D

There is stuff all available for the CU2 euro.
Mugen has a kit and an exhaust.
Eibach has some lowering springs available now.
Tein have some coil overs coming out soon.
I don't know of anything else out.....
If you want these things, it is going to cost you heaps. Some of the traders on here might be able to help you source parts.

Nice choice of car, congrats on your purchase :) Most smash repairers will install/paint bodykits if your planning to supply the kit (ie. ebay/trader), so just walk right in an ask, remember to ask around prices tend to vary.

no point modding unless your made of money for the CU2 since it's a fairly new car, parts will cost an arm and a leg....as the AUD still sucks.
- Most smash repairers can do a job on installing kits, so find your local or get referred by members on here on who to go to.
- Bodykits - will depend on what brand etc you get will also depend on fitment.
NOTE: All aftermarket kits will have fitment problems just depending on how good your installer is to make it look good.
My mate does not recommend buying carmate stuff because it's crap. <-- side note.
Depending where you go will depend on the price.
Cheaper may not always be the better option.
Bodykit you can install yourself if you want but if you do a dodgy job yourself then it's your own loss. As i myself was too scared to do it incase i fk'd it up. <--- this is full kit as in full bumper replacements on CL9 (NOT lip kit which is easier)
Suspension (coilover) install --> looking around $250-350 depending where you go
Bodykit - can range from 900+ and greater
Wheels - buy from local traders on OH as they have legit and replica jap wheels unless you want to go chromies which Tempetyres/Ozzytyres or Talebtyres are your friends.
Just my 2c.
But go for it as Type R positive has said.

although the posts ive been reading about it seem to be quite old. im not sure if its still suitable for the 09 model cause the stock looks way different from some of your ones.
I think you refer to the 'old' CL9 chassis... 'old' posts would likely refer to 'old' cars... look at threads with [CU2] in the title, and use the search function in the forum for other bits n pieces to your car. http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/search.php
im specifically after the mugen body kit.
mugen kit hey... make your car like this. in grey.

:p
OP - you can try searching on USA websites about 09 TSX and see if they have any mods out there available for the CU2.

no one told you to post at 7.30am... then again i just saw that the replies started coming in at 5am... starting to wonder what people's day jobs are.
-----------
for OP:
http://www.heeltoeauto.com is a specialist tsx/euro website in USA...
while the AUD is schizerhausen atm, by looking at the range available on the site you can kind of get an idea of what's available for each part of your car. having said that, the CU2 section is a little lacking... you might have to go with Honda genuine bodykit and acessories haha.
heeltoe does ship to australia but shipping is dear because of AUD. not as in 'dear, me' but as in f***ing expensive.
by the way your car is known as a 2009 Acura TSX CU2 (2nd generation TSX) in the US of A. correct me if im wrong

I think in a couple of month start just doing your suspension mod by changing the springs 1st that is oredy changing the looks of your car and ride comfort :) n maybe change your wheels to bigger size 19" at least :) make it looks luxury as possible :D

thanks for the replies guys
i was thinking this morning while driving that the car has REALLY sensitive handling
im already used to it, but normally speaking is that a good thing?
also regarding the suspension, i feel absolute every tiny little bump on the road.
i used to drive my parents lexus and that one had some really loose springs or something, cause the ride was realll smooth and i cud barely feel anything.
when most ppl change their coils etc is it to make it more like my current ride or the less sensitive "looser" old ride?
also, ive heard of Type-R, but what in the world is Euro-R? i saw some "euro-r" front lip mods. i think thats wat i want
im satisified with my car but i just want the front lip to be a bit wider, to have a bit of flare and a bit lower. if i was going to do only one mod, it would be to add a front lip. but according to the manufacturer the lip i have would have to be removed first. and that lip also "must" come with the fog lights.
i dont want to remove the fog lights lol
*edit*
this is what it says on the honda website
"Front Aero Bumper Smooth, dynamic and seamlessly incorporated into your Accord Euro's aerodynamic curves, this sports bumper accentuates the car's performance-inspired beauty.Applicable for all Accord Euro variants. Front Aero Bumper, Front Under Spoiler and Front Styling/Protection Trim Set cannot be fitted simultaneously. If fitting Front Aero Bumper to a base model, the accessory Fog Light Set must also be fitted."
the 09 model came with the aero bumper installed already, i just wish there is a lip i can attach onto it without removing it

^^^ I dont think there's EURO-R version of the CU2 yet... so the one you saw might be CL9 (previous model) so it definitely wont fit the CU2
Crapdaz
10-02-2009, 02:15 PM
euro-R = type-R
coilovers will make it more stiffer and you'll feel every single bump but 10x worse. --> depends on which brand of coilies otherwise it can be pretty comfy

lol ur gunna hate me more when i tell u that, i was originally gunna go for the 40th anniversary edition accord. i didnt even consider the euro before.
i literally walked into the dealer with no prior research. haggled a price, asked him to throw in all the extras for free, ontop of the current promos paid my deposit and walked out half an hr later.
everything i learnt about the euro, its features, its advantages etc were all discovered post purchase lol. e.g. i didnt noe about vtec engines, the fact that it has the paddle gear shifts. i didnt even noe it was even popular lol. risky but turned out okay i guess
i love this car to bit already and its only been a week

rofl not a fan of paddle shift but supposed to be quicker...
interior has been ripped off the standard accord.
Volume control kinda looks like a dildo in the centre console. Too much of a lux car.... lost the sportyness the cL9 has.
Anyhow good buy since it's another honda.

I do the same with my Civic sports before (just came in and put deposit down coz I like the look of the demo) and totaly regret it... but since the CU2 is Jap made and have great reviews from some of my trusted friends (yes, buddah u're one of them :p) I believe I dont need to test drive the CU2 to be convinced to purchase it...
regarding sportiness... I thought CL9 is more like a family car before (untill sum1 show me the EURO-R of CL9). and CU2 for me looks more sportier than CL 9 (wider body + lower) just my 2 cents though...

is there a air intake avail for the CU2?? is it the same as the CL9 one or different? got a friend who also got a new CU2 and wants an air intake. I think intake is a nice addition although not a cosmetic one. it makes your car sound nice past 3000 rpm and even nicer when you vtec it

i didnt notice the interior rippoff observation. i thought it was kinda unique. i actually quite like it. i wish i got the wood grain wheel tho. the stock one looks cheap :(
and shame interior u cant get it in another colour
but yes it was very Lux. and im too use to it lol. my mate got a second hand 06 civic. i looked at it and thought i was back in 1992.
CU2 is more LUXURY than the CL9 :D for sure
yep. sexiness on the outside AND inside :P
he already said his not going for performance...

yes except there doesnt seem to be any body kits available for the new model. lowering wise, i like the height and one of the things that made me go for the euro was the phat 18" wheels. i noe to some of u 18 is nothing, but when uve been driving around with tiny wheels all ur life, 18 is massive lol
i just saw george's rims on the post ur pic thread and i thought i was looking at a falcon lol
spoilt cause only son right?
no i actually have a sister.
sorry i meant jealous sister :D

hey guys ive decided what i wanna do with my car
since body kits are expensive and hard to find for my model ive decided to not install any
plus everytime i look at it, i swear to god it just got sexier or something and i feel like i dont need to change it.
in terms of rims, i was looking at some of the fotos posted on the "post ur euro" thread and found a set of rims i liked...i then took a look at my rims and realise, THEY WERE EXACTLY THE SAME! lol!
except they werent as indented as the ones i saw. lol oh well
in terms of lowering. i was intending to get a lip kit so it wud look lower. i dont wanna risk scraping it etc either. so the height is perfect for me. i guess maybe lower the back.
but what i REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLy want right now. is REALLLLLLY simple
i want some decals and window stickers and badges =D
im particularly after the "euro-r" grille badge
a "Mugen Power" badge for the back
and a Mugen Power decal for the windows as well.
would anybody know where i can source these? i believe after i add them, they will make the car look a bit snazzy. like putting on a bow tie. small but effective. and add a bit of colour to my dull grey.
btw ive already tried ebay. they are REALLY crap quality. and the "genuine" ones are $80 for a badge. like srsly wtf? its not made of gold

i was trying to dodge this asshole standing in the middle of the lane inside a westfield carpark and i was turning left to go up a ramp. and the back left tire drove onto the side kerb but because it was sitting VERY clsoe to the edge, it slid off and grazed the edge of the rim...><

please, please search man http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/search.php
some of these posts can be answered with a simple search
as for intake, look at threads with [CU2]. someone else can confirm this but i don't think it will be easy to obtain an intake for your engine atm because of different O2 sensors. CL9 modders generally use a Cold Air Intake (CAI) which will, when developed for the CU2, probably be a good addition to your car.
so. what you can do now. until things are further researched and developed:
look at a mugen kit from jdmconcept
stickers and badges from jdmyard
lowering with eibachs from jdmyard
honda genuine tidbits/accessories/kit from your dealer
h'ok?
and for hydwinz... i believe 'P.R.Ingles' should answer your question

CAI stands for COLd air intake
so the stock car doesnt have a CAI? as in its not cold? or something?

CAI - cold air intake - reasoning for it being a CAI is that it feeds cold air from bumper area to the engine, pod filter mainly located just under the headlights, or you can get other models which it sits in the engine bay but feeds an aluminium piping to the front bumper.
SRI - Short Ram Intake - Pod filter sits inside the engine bay with a short intake arm, (NOTE: Pod filters not enclosed in an engine bay is illegal and defectable); This method is not viable cause you are sucking in all the hot air and since it's a K series the temp is even hotter unless you can enclose the filter by DIYing your own box like how aaron has done (CL9).
Hope this gives you a better insight.
