does a bigger intake pipe giv u more power?? cos im abt to leav and go pik one up from FEL12X.. a lot of ppl have told me that its is a power gain jus slightly.. not much but u will notice the acceleration response will b better.. can sum plz let me noe.. the truth??

truth is, ur car's induction sound will be louder, dont expect too much hp gain. personally when i had that in my civic, it sounded nice and air flow was smoother with acceleration, but thats about it... each to their own...

hey i installed the pipe.. and yeah there is a slight power gain.. and it lowers the engine peak power to an earlier stage.. so now my engine starts screeeeeaaaaming at 4Gs... its gud..

3" is pretty big for N/A engines arent they?

Dont need to be angry Javed..... :D .......well mate i think 3" is a too big for your engine.....also i want to point out that bigger exhaust dont necessary equal to power gain.....otherwise every will get a 10" N1 muffler like the hole in a sub woofer box......get a cat back exhaust just have a little bit help for your high end performance....also big exhaust will lose torque....therefore i also doubt with the result u claimed..... :(

PS: Only turbo car will use 3" exhaust....

3'' intake pipe is not big for NA, it's just depends what's the engine you are using

how do u exactly know if there is a slight power gain?
butt dyno ? or did u actually dyno your car.

most short ram intakes you buy for a car are 3in.

I was going to ask the same thing.
How did you determine that your peak power has come on earlier in the car.
An intake shouldn't affect the peak power RPM at all.

3inch isn't too big for NA as some have said in this thread.
The stock B16A intake plenum is 3 inch.

Main thing is to check what your stock intake plenum diameter is.
Theres probably no point in fitting a 3 inch intake to a 2.5 inch plenum.

having said that, there are some intakes for the B16A that are actually 2.5inch (AEM for instance), but the ICEMAN uses 3 inch.
The theory behind the smaller intake size is to increase intake velocity and reduce the effects of heatsoak (which I believe is fairly negligable anyway for an intake).

One thing that is important tho is that a 3 inch intake will give greater internal plenum volume over 2.5 inch which is important for response.....
