Hey guys,
Im getting ready to spend my well saved pennies on a nice P plate weapon. Long story short eg's = sex too me..
Anywho, I sent a email to ''Vehicle Standards & Safety Queensland Transport''
asking about all the legal things I can go and do to my car bla bla bla bla!
After browsing over the email I got back, it appears that yes I can do engines swaps as long as it does not require a LA1 modification plate.
So from my understanding anything that was optional for that model.
So my question is!
Can someone please give me a list of factory optional engines for an EG civic?
And what engine would be best? ..
Cheeeeeers!

the only thing that came factory out of eg's were the b16's so you could probably put one of those in and get away with it other then that people just swap bigger motors into the eg and get a mod plate =]

Negative. EG's were never released in australia with B16's therefore it isn't classified as an optional factory engine. The only semi-decent engines you could potentally do is a d16a8 or d16y1 but the cost of replacing your existing engine with one of these is pointless. It will be cheaper just to buy a VTi or Si

Very true...
Hondah - I suggest that you keep on saving your pennies just like I am until you are off your P's and do a swap that is worth it (eg. B, K, H series). In the mean time why dont you think about starting to purchase all the things you will need in order to support a engine swap (eg. Bigger Brake System, Suspension).
Anyways good luck..

wow a P-plater that has actually accepted the fact that saving till they're on their opens is the best idea. I'm inpressed
