hi all, as u can all tell im new and posting here first... i've read around and can't wait to get cracking...

i was never usually into honda's, i've always leant more towards imports and classics. but now i own a crappy 94 civic VTi and want to customize it... so i guess that's why i'm here really - i know stuff all bout hondas.

wanting to change the engine, colour and wheels and do a few custom bits along the way... so i definitely need advice feel free to give it to me

You must be so proud!

There's so much information on here that will help you, have a good look around.
Post up some pics, even if you think it's just a crappy VTi there is plenty of people who would love to be driving one.

it's a modest budget, but you might be able to achieve something simple.
What happened to your skyline? How did you write it off?

If you can drive turbo, slap a turbo in that bad boy, the SOHC VTEC with a turbo puts out excellent power... $2k is pretty tight for an engine conversion, unless you know people... You're usually looking at $3k for a B16A DOHC VTEC and B18C2 DOHC VTEC from a half cut, thats not including the labour for the conversion - which ranges from $400-$1k...

As for a white EG, they tend to look good lowered with a nice set of 15inch JDM/replica wheels on them... Not to mention a mugen half lip *drools*..

Get some pics up of your little beast, hope to see you at a few meets in the future...
Welcome to OzHonda too :)

really? i just need to find a place thats got them... was told to get a half cut civic might be cheaper... dunno it's just soooo damn slow. but its also auto so i probably won't get that much from it....

my beloved skyr33 was wrapped round a pole. week in hospital and no car to show for it. it had a good run, had it for just over two years. had a r31 before that. very nice car.

nah it's cool... caused by me being a dick and not paying attention to what i was doing. funnily enough i wrapped it right outside ginza imports on parramatta road... AT PEAK HOUR!!!! so so so embarressed.

Well glad to hear you're ok.
But the greatest mod you can do for your car is improve your driving skills.
An engine swap would be good for an excuse to swap out that slushbox auto.
I just think you should make sure you have your attitude towards driving right before putting too much power through the Civic.

5-6k? for what? everything you have in mind? or just the engine conversion?

I hope you dont plan on a full leather interior with heaps of tv's in your car... Not a big fan of ricer civics.. The clean cut JDM look is the best

You can easily pick up a B16A/B18C2 half cut for $3k-$3.5k and then you're looking at $1k MAX for installation...

Goodluck aye, hopefully you'll end up sticking with the civic with a nice new engine :)

whats wrong with leather if it looks nice and have the balls to back it up then step back... i've got three screens being installed, suede black roof, with a massive power plant of a motor, plus jdm parts...
best of both worlds...

welcome to ozhonda

i think my driving attitude is great thank you very much. this is the first non-turbo car i've ever owned. i wrote off the skyline coz i wasn't paying attention - not because i was driving like a wank.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. I just know that one second of reduced concentration could be a drivers last.
However, to me paying attention to the road at all times would be part of your attitude towards driving. But I am sure after you're accident you would be pretty switched on at ALL times now.

no worries man... yeah well now i've got a civic to show for it. i've been driving turbos for nearly 8 years now but yes i agree one second in reduction of concentration cost me over $20k. plus its an auto and slushy so i can't really go wrong lol

yup pics will go up tomorrow. but i warn you it's completely stock. except the speakers i just did myself on sunday...

i'll post something in this thread bout the respray... i'm guessing it would be more if you had rust and needed some panel beating but im hoping it'll be cheapish. i only want black.. none of that candy coloured shit my hair is pink enough

Congrats on your first honda

i think red_eg4 wasnt saying that your attitude was wrong but your skills could be improved.
You have to drive a n/a 4 cylunder car alot more to extract the potential compared to say a turbo car

SHOGUNOVDDRK

Brakes are cheap, you can probably buy second hand stuff and upgrade at the same time.

Heating, as in Radiator?

Aircon shouldn't be much at all.

bennjamin (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/member.php?u=79) is good, he does all my stuff and doesn't over charge.

Give him a Pm and see where/if he can help you out :)
