Hey, I was with my mate when a light on his dash lit up. It was the engine malfunction light (one that looks like a tap). We referred to the owners manual and it said to turn off engine, start and see if light stays on.

The light stayed on and now we don't know what is causing the light to come on. There is no difference in the drive of the car?

Has anyone had any experience with this or knows whats the cause?

I'm guessing one of the sensors are busted (02 etc)

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

have u changed anything lately?
or have u hit anything or hear anything from the car?
engine knocks cause the malfunction light to turn on too.
I had my knock sensor replaced and o2 sensors replaced.. cost me a fortune!

Get the engine light code checked. You can use an OBDII scan tool to read it and compare the code to a list of codes to find out what has failed.

Nope all stock!

My main concern at the moment is it alright to drive the car? Will it cause any damage?

fkn happen to me today on my DA9 -_-.

As for the check engine if its ALWAYS ON 100% of the time its not safe to drive..
if it comes on AFTER IGNITION its 50/50 chance of being safe to drive, your better off getting towed to nearest mechanic i believe its free with NRMA
