Love the front lights mate. Where did you source them from? (you said overseas, but just wondering where exactly.) Was it hard to install yourself? And does the front lights make your HIDs legal as you replaced the whole unit?

from indo :), its very easy to install it if you are in sydney i can help you to install, from my understanding yes since most car are using projector headlight, and stock bulb is not good because too dark i can't even see anything while driving at night.

nice car mate! where did you buy your kit? i was planning to get one from Philippines but I'm just worried about how much more will it cost me (fees) once it arrives here in Melb.
I called them and there's this market value comparison stuff that they mentioned. Stuffs from neighboring southeast asian countries are way cheap compared here so i was just wondering if they would compare the price there with the price here and make me pay for the difference etc.

bought from touge tune, well if you can get it cheaper from overseas then is good but then you will need to consider other thing such as warranty, shipping fees since the items is bulky, and etc.
Quality and fittment also may vary. plastic is very hard to fix but its more flexible compare to fibre glass.

LED's look good with the headlights. Never thought i'd say it, cos most of the time LED's on cars that aren't like... brand spanking new (i.e. complete overhaul of the car in 09 sorta thing) look shithouse... or unless it came with them
if that made no sense to you, then yeh.. good job

well you have more room to tune your engine if you have cat back and also you can change the rev limiter.

But the fd1 and the si have a completely different engine. Our cars dont even have a proper vtec lol. Do you know any headers for the fd1 besides weapon R headers?
vlixcool
28-09-2010, 09:37 PM
you mean down pipe? fd1 does not have header :p and is not worth getting down pipe because it doesn't do anything, better get cat back system.
ekay1
28-09-2010, 09:39 PM
Oh yeahhh LOL i was trying to find the headers last time for my car and ended up finding 1 thick weird metal pipe running down to the exhaust instead of the headers. You got a catback yet?
how much did you get for headlight?

Ive got an injen cai. Whats an e throttle and throttle body spacer? I need a catback lol
e-throttle is an electronic device to control opening throttle valve, for example instead of pressing gas pedal by 50% to get 100 you can press gas pedal by 20% to get 100. This device is useful to reduce drive by wire lag for our car, since there is a delay in sending a signal from gas pedal to computer. throttle open wider = more response = more fuel consumption.
e-throttle have 3 different presets, such as economic 1-5 mode / normal mode, sports 1-7. if you put on sport 7 mode the car will be accelerate quicker just by pressing the gas pedal by 5%. e-throttle will not increase HP.
as for throttle body spacer, read below:
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/corsport/163196-06-civic-lx-dx-ex-r18-p2r-throttle-body-spacer-6.html

e-throttle is pretty easy to install, but throttle spacer little bit harder. i can help you to install if you live in Sydney :D

Is shadow a decent brand?
vlixcool
29-09-2010, 03:11 PM
yea pretty much the same, i think ej20 have one as well on his car. decent product easy to use and it comes with user manual, double check the link i gave you again because if i can remember it should come with the harness imside. unplug the harness from original gas pedal, connect new harness and connect the origjnal harness at the end and.

i have the pivot one. Got it pretty much when it first came out. Ive seen about 3+ versions of it. Much better than sprint booster (not that i have used it) but has extra settings.
At the start it was fun having it. After almost 2 years in the car, its a normal feel for me. When i set it back to normal settings, the car feels sluggish. But thats how it was originally only that i am used to the 7 Sports mode.

LOL, is the 7 sport mode worth it? how much more fuel does it use? How much was it for the pivot one shimian? im finding them to be around the $300-$350 markish ><
Shimian
30-09-2010, 09:08 PM
i drive a sport model and i get about 400-450/tank depends if im heavy footed on take offs. Usually i get about 400 with 2 blocks or so before i fill up
Sport 7 mode is quite fun. I have never taken it off that setting since day 1.
ekay1
30-09-2010, 09:28 PM
Is it ALOT better or slightly? i wonder how a fd2 feels compared to a fd1 =\ I want something to make driving more enjoyable =P more for leisure i guess
Shimian
30-09-2010, 09:43 PM
its not slightly but not alot. it makes the pedals very sensitive. You need to remember this does not add any power to the car. All it does is make ur car respond quicker. So a slight tap of the pedal will surge the car forward. It allows you to take off easier without having to put ur foot on the pedal hard
ekay1
30-09-2010, 09:50 PM
I see. Is it in anyway bad for the car?
Shimian
30-09-2010, 10:01 PM
nah. My car is fine. Had it for over 2 years. Serviced it every 6 months and no issues from Honda. Only bad thing you will face is lower fuel consumption. You will have so much fun with it at the start then it will be part of you
ekay1
30-09-2010, 10:29 PM
I see. Thanks for info man. Im thinking of purchasing the shadow one which vlix linked me. Hope it goes well. Cheers!

But shimian, just keep in mind that the throttle body spacer was tested on an Si, so you could have different results.

I recommend p2r or helix. Helix has a unique design whereas most other ones are flat on the inside

you won't get 4.5 hp atw... (that's for the si)
lol
Found this for aneone that wants to read.
A throttle body spacer creates a larger area around the throttle body. This gives the throttle body a larger capacity for air intake, when the accelerator is pressed. When the throttle body valve opens, the throttle body spacer allows a greater amount of air to pass through the valve, increasing the power available to the car. This also improves the car's energy efficiency, due to the fact that the air is readily available, so the car does not need to expend effort to bring it to the throttle plate.
so according to this, you really want a big, long intake there so that the air is 'there'..
really, if u let off the accelerator, it's not like ur intake is going to be below atmospheric pressure - it's open ended so this'll never happen.. the low pressure wave will reach the outlet a bit later, that's all..
I'm serially confused
plus with our engines, when ur cruising, the butterfly valve is completely open anyway, so if u gun it it should be fine.

Very Nice indeed. Can I ask please how hard it was installing the angel eyes and is it worth getting them???? Once again congrats on the car.

hi mate, thank you.
Well if you like the led style on angel eyes then go for it. Because some people just don't like having led on their car. If you have proper tools installing angel eyes its pretty easy but if you don't then better pay qualified person to do it :)
