I dunno who/where to do it for you but $490 is about the price of performance clutch kits, like ACT clutch kit here (http://www.heeltoeauto.com/ACT-Clutches-Heavy-Duty-Race-4-Puck-Solid-Hub-Clutch-Kit-HD-Pressure-Plate-Disc-Bearings-Tool-2004-2008-Acura-TSX-CL7-CL9-AT1-HDR4-pr-65641.html)
If I were you I'd consider replacing the clutch and a lighter flywheel (http://www.heeltoeauto.com/AASCO-Aluminum-Flywheel-04-08-Acura-TSX-RSX-Non-S-100105-11-pr-1003.html) while you are at it, since you are pulling it apart you might as well get a few HP out of it, and damaged/worn flywheel will kill the new clutch reasonably quickly anyway, so you might need to have the flywheel inspected even if you arent getting a new flywheel.

oh ye i totally blanked out there, i will also get the flywheel machined but not sure on how much it would cost to get a new one. to be honest ill only be keeping the car another 12 months at most, so as long as the clutch last me through that im fine with it. does the difference in heavy duty clutch as opposed to stock clutch produce much of a kw difference? the only other mod im considering is a short shifter but once again planing on selling the car can't keep up with the expenses no more.
as for the supplier link you have given me they don't post to VIC as far as i was able to tell. i will be going to highway brake n clutch which seem to be the cheapest in my area. any other thought will be appreciated cheers.

Hey Mate,
I just recently got my clutch changed it did cost a bit however was definatly worth it.
What I got was a:
EP3R/DC5r Flywheel comes stock lightened and is much much lighter then our flywheel.
I also got the EP3R/DC5R Excedy Sports Organic Clutch Kit.
I paid about 1500 for all parts and install which i think is alright and is also including fluids.
The result was it revs alot quicker and more responsive.
I'm pleased with it and was definatly worth the money spent my clutch was about to go anyway and was necessary to do it just spent the money and got the flywheel. I think there is a second hand one atm on the forums for about 250

to be honest im on a very tight budget insurance and rego are due within a month also so you can understand me trying to find the cheapest solution atm. i will most probably have the flywheel machined and replace the clutch with a stock one unless there is only a small difference in price <$200. What fluids?

A stock clutch from Honda will be just as expensive if not more due to them charging obsene prices. Do not hit up retail places like autobarn as they charge out of the arse. I picked my excedy sports organic clutch for 510 not sure if is below RRP or not but is definatly cheap but keep in mind i have the DC5R clutch and I think it is alot cheaper

I called Honda when mine needed to be replaced they quoted $1200 supplied and fitted and machined flywheel. I went through an independant workshop and was charged $980 which included clutch kit (same as standard) thrust bearing replaced and machined flywheel. Just ask around and try to get the mechanics to beat the last ones price. It is a big job to do so expect expensive quotes

hey guys found a mechanic today charging 500 for standard clutch( apparently its strong?), new thrust bearing and machined flywheel + 350 for labour so totaling 800. still better than the dealers 1560 quote they gave me.

Standard clutch for $500 aint cheap considering a performance ACT unit is $420 odd + shipping, but it's reasonable cost i guess

I paid $450 for a standard clutch. Depends what brand it is I guess and how much profit the mechanic puts ontop.

the 500 includes the machining and the thrust bearing. so technically the clutch price is roughly 400 than 50 for thrust 50 for machining and the rest labour.

Since you aren't keeping the car... Go for cheap.... Just make sure there's warranty...
