Yeah, figured going HID would give a headache, which is why I'm sticking with halogen. Just wondering if 7000k would be illegal as it's being sold in forums

Anyone know if there are steel Euro footwell plates? Like the ones you find in Jag and Lexus when you open the door, there's a metal piece that has "Lexus" glowing in a nice blue light?

Wow, damn. I'm happy to pay for someone to do that, but me myself? Some DIY stuff like changing parts I can do. But when it comes to actually building (like a table, where even though everything was measured carefully, it still turned out wonky) I'm a no go.

You think you will win a race in a straight line? You need to be able to turn
I've got the Accord footwell plates but apprantely they don't come with LED. I'll post some pics soon..

Im not racing? Just want more straight line power for now..

For power would be CAT/CAI/Headers/ECU(may provide some headache)/SC. Just don't expect the world.

Your right, cant expect too much from a NA. Im happy thus far.
Ive already done all those you mention.
Now im thinking maybe bigger throttle body may we woth my time or maybe pulleys what ever they are might be the go ?
Pretty open to suggestions...
After all my lil mods ill get final touch up tune and that will be that

Nah, don't do pulleys.
Go for a bigger TB and change to a RBC might be what your looking for and some tuning for sure.
IMO Stock suspension and handling is quite fun hahah after tracking my car... but yes it's not ideal and you should upgrade your supension / handling in the future but not most important.
RBC? Please Elaborate...
Ive lowered my car and am happy with handling...That will do for now

Bigger TB dont do jack without cams and new Manifold.
http://www.hondata.com/tuning_k24a2_tsx_engine.html
But then with RBC you loose torque... kind of a tradeoff. The IM to lookout for is NOT RBB or RBC, it's the RRC used on the FD2R (http://www.superstreetonline.com/techarticles/sstp_1002_k_series_intake_manifold_shootout/viewall.html). it still loose some torque compared to the RBB, but nothing compared to the torque you'd lose switching form RBB to RBC, and RRC gains a heck of a lot power.
Pulley is the next best bang for your buck mod... remember the K is internally balanced so if you get a good quality pully it wont break anything.
Next is intake manifold heat gasket shield and TB heatshield thingy, if you are doing that I'd suggest you use groundwires the TB and engine block, because the DBW motor and engine sensors gounds off the engine block and intake manifold, I found that out when installing the Icebox. The heatshields will cut the ground.
Some good info there..., pulley, where is the best place to look for it and what brand as im not familiar with them at all.

I can't remember the exact, but I do recall that the original CL9 prefacelift, had a 900 cell or something very restrictive. Post FaceLift though, was of a much lower cell, perhaps 300-400. Less than half, that I'm sure off.

I think your a little bit misinformed in relation to the blitz b.r.a.i.n (or I am lol). but it doesn't literally flash the ecu to say no cel codes it just wipes them but if the error occurs again it will through the same code.
That is my understanding of the product anyway

Alright, figured it's time to give an update on what im doing to my car... lol
Some of you know I've got a HKS ground kit (purple) on the car, but frankly it's too short for my needs.
So im making my own, and while im doing that i'll replace the battery terminal as well.
Getting 25ft (7.6m) of 8gauge red wire from Amazon for $25 bucks shipped (OMG).
and just gonna pick up some battery terminals and ring terminals off SCA.
Gonna ground the following points
- Throttlebody
- Auto Transmission
- Injector base and sensors
- Engine Block
- Chassis x2
I dont think I'd use all 7m of wire tho, but anyway, it's cheap.
Also going to replace the unifilter that came with the icebox with K&N (probably add some seals around the box tho), got the K&N off Amazon for $40... SHIPPED.
marquee
24-04-2012, 09:59 PM
Will you just be going straight to ground from those points or link them to a central hub and ground that hub?

We all should hear from MingZai very soon, he's got something cooking from Hondata already, so i'll just tag it off him afterwards, since we're both auto.
Need $$ for rims and suspension.
So like a 4-2-1 Ground wiring kit lol
More like 5/6 to one, I do still have the "L" shapes braket from the HKS kit so I will reuse that.
The only problem is the auto tranny ground, I can't reach it an I got no jack to lift the darn car up
a DIY coming up? Great price on the K&N!
It's still on amazon if anyone else wants a set.
sodaz
25-04-2012, 03:10 PM
I've used a grounding kit before and it doesn't really do anything in terms of performance except put a bunch of wires under the hood. The best bang for the buck items are Headers (with HF cat), Lightweight flywheel (manual), Pulleys and Intake. The rest do almost nothing in terms of power.
For handling, Suspension, Rear Sway bar is all you really need.

25-04-2012, 03:15 PM
Not really a performance thing more used to keep the voltage as stable as possible which result in possible smoothing of idle and less voltage drop when electrics used.

S80 is alright, nice V8, nice ride. Not really that sporty though, but prob one of the best family cars around. Not sure about Volvo reliability wise though, haven't heard much on them. Then again, even the CL9 has it's flaws.
I just finished getting touch up tune after doing few mods such as flex pipe, cat and deleted one of the resonators. I also opted to tune the car on 100 unleaded petrol from UNITED petrol station.
Here are the graphs and ill summarise them all below:
http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/8206/adzz.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/444/adzz.jpg/)
92kw Stock standard, dyno reads slightly lower figures.
Chart 1
RED-Headers and K&N intake only. 104KW.
Headers and K&N intake, tuned with Greddy Ultimate on 98 ultimate. 116kw
Chart 2
Headers, K&N intake, Replaced flex pipe, Cat, deleted resonator,100 unleaded. 129KW
Headers, K&N intake, Replaced flex pipe, Cat, deleted resonator tuned with greddy ultimate on 100 unleaded.135KW
Torque from standard 400NM increased to 512Nm. Gains all round.
Here a video of dyno run.

Fredoops
13-05-2012, 12:15 PM
512 nm? For real?
Cause according the spec sheets our k24a3 only makes 223nm at the crank stock.

Every single dyno is different. Dont look at final figures. Look at before and after and that will show you how much over stock the car is making. Altho i never dynod the car stock standard, only after headers and intake, i got 104kw. Im
Guessling low 90kw would be stock figure on this particular dyno.

Dts dynos are known to provide lower (slightly) HP figures.
I recken the torque is not the raw figure, but the converted figure according to SAEj1349 standard. I think the assumptions or friction calculation done by the dyno shop has something to do with the abnormal torque reading.
lmao @ 400/ 500nm. Good 1 bro
Allow me to explain myself once more before i give up.
These figures of nm dont mean anything to me. I wouldnt care if they read 1000nm. Im comparing my car to my car. Not my car to someone elses car on different dyno. Im comparing my car, with few mods to my car modded and tuned, on the same dyno.
Ive placed these graphs to help others and of course for people to comment on before and after. Best i got is people talking about unrealistic nm figures which i dont really giver a shit about. As i said, im comparing before and after. Now i see why ppl dont post here much tho.

For some reason the dyno does read slightly lower figures. We had a dyno day (supra) and pretty much every single car showed less than expected. Mates supra was supposed to pull 470kw. Got it up to only see 411kw. Fair bit of difference, hub dyno to this dyno.
