also, wanted this to be installed as well once its cleaned http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EDX-v1-HID-H11-Xenon-Kit-HONDA-EURO-ACCORD-8000K-/260659161492?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cb07f2994 - is that simple to install (DIY) or do i need this professionally installed?

Your help is much appreciated :) go :honda:!!

Are you headlights fogged inside with condensation or is it more that "worn out" hazy look?

For condensation one you have to take apart the headlights and clean inside etc if you want then reseal properly

For worn out look you could try polishing the headlights and then apply wax on (well that's what I'm going to try on my Jazz!)

You can also check out the mightycarmods team on how to do it!

For HIDs I say not worth getting if you have the standard model. Bit illegal and quality control from the eBay ones aren't that great. Spend some money on quality bulbs like those vision plus ones (I think that's what they are called) They might not look "cool" but they will help increase vision at night just a bit more and that's better than risking your life and other people's life.

If you still must replace HIDS search these forums for a guide. Really simple to do! People do it alot with their Civics so I'm sure it's a simple case of comparing the Euro with the Civic.

Try meguiars plastic cleaner in a small white bottle...does the trick! In regards to HIDs i would get an auto electrician to install the HIDs. Dont forget you have to a Euro Luxury front bumper with the headlight washers to make it legal. Personaly, i dont think its worth it but its ur money and car.

No problems =) My Celica was a PITA for condensation inside the headlight and hazziness on the outside of the headlight. To stop the condensation, remove your headlight from the car and apply a small continous bead of silicone around the join of the headlight.

If its for both i would not get 8000k you cant see anything its just very blue. I personally dont like hids higher then 4300k as they dont provide sufficient light.

Not correct the lower k rating the brighter the less blue the light. The higher the k the bluer the light and less brightness. 4300 is brighter then 5000 however if you go to low it turns yellow

Okay let me rephrase.

PERSONALLY; 5000K is brighter than 4300K.

4300K has a yellow tinge. 5000K is pure white.

I've installed over 100 kits ranging from 4000K to 35,000K and this is what I found out.

All different brands mind you.

have you called Honda yet? call them up and give 'em your VIN number and they'll tell you if the car has any outstanding issues (call back) that this model had.. i've booked mine in for headlight clips and power steering hose issue.

Lol that guy that fixed it up and wrote that is me! From memory I thought it was pretty detailed but obviously not, but if you want more details or specific information I can let you know. It's hard to tell, but the fix i posted is only for the uv clear cost failure on the headlight, not condensation inside the headlight. Its hard to tell, I thought mine was inside the headlight from condensation at first, but if you post pics here I can let you know.

Sorry to be re-starting the thread but I picked up some Invision Headlight cleaner ($42 from Autobarn) and it has worked absolutely amazingly.
If any of you need help with using that or questions about it let me know, the instructions were good but left me desiring...
As an example; at the end of the second last stage (fully polished) it turned all foggy and looked horrid, luckily after the lens coating (with UV cut or something) was applied it dried like a crystal.

My 2 cents is that it's worth the penny but expect to spend at least 1.5hrs per light if you want to do it properly...

cheers, Dale.

Here they are, yes it's the other headlight but the pictures don't do it justice.
This actually passed RWC only a week ago as I bought it.... Pretty poor that professionals are this bad.
