View Full Version : High pitched noise during drives
All I think of when I hear it is "drive train" now I'm no expert by any means but I gave my mate a lift the other day and he could hear it, its usually when its at a higher rev and I shift down or take my foot off the accelerator that you'll hear it but he said "Damn that'd annoy me" - so now from time to time it does annoy me, what could it be?
The sound seems like its coming from under the cover, possibly the front left but you need a keen ear to hear it so instead of a smooth downshift when I take my foot off the accelerator it'll be that couple with a higher pitched noise.
Stock automatic 2003 DC5 Integra - thanks fellas!

Either that or gearbox bearing
But I'm not getting into the fight in this thread LOL
Cheers for the reply  I looked up clutch buzz and watched a vid on youtube but it doesn't sound as aggressive as what I'd heard, the youtube vid was an s2000 though - mines a DC5 integra. It doesn't sound like anythings breaking/scraping or anything like that it'd just be nicer to have a smoother and less noise when I'm driving. Makes me wonder whether its just something that occurs with some Honda engines or drive trains that can't be avoided otherwise will have to bring it up with my mechanic.

If its only while down shifting or at high rpm I would suggest gearbox related. I'm not familiar with the auto in DC5 though.
The box is the only common point that would be under high load in those situations...
