Hey guys i need help with my da b18c2 swap.. Did you ever encounter a cel on the ecu because it could not detect the vss since the cluster is a cable and not electronic...are there any da clusters that are electronic???? I need help.. Fml how come ive never heard of this upon research about the swap to a da. All input would be helpful.. Fml!

Make sure the ECU is picking up the VSS signal. Re-check your wiring.

Just wire it from the vss directly behind the cluster to the ecu

Iv had a Similar problem.
First Does your Taco work? if yes then, Check the cable leading out to the ECU (vss wire) if no breaks, you will be looking at a new taco.
Experience: First found a faulty wire going from the back of the cluster to the ecu.
Also changed the wiring and found out my VSS Converter in the back of my cluster had died, Tacho would still work but ecu had no idea i was moving, Changed cluster and it fixed it
