Hey guys, just curious as I am confused on some things.

I am considering buying a B18B over a B16A2 because of the price and obvious torque gains, but does a B16A2 offer more advantages compared to a B18B?

The only benefits I can see from a B16A2 are the short gear ratios they offer and obviously VTEC. But, in terms of boost since the B18B has longer gearing, could boost work more in my favor then?

The B18B I can purchase has approximately 176,000 KM.

I'm looking for a decent turbo kit but nothing over the top, I plan on daily driving it.

Also, are B18B mods the same as a B18C?

Thanks for looking guys. :)

If you want to boost, go the B18B.

If you want vtec get the b16

if you want a faster vtec, get the b18c2/c7

You've just gotta decide where you want to go

B18c7 with low boost " 8psi" no internal work achieve around 190-200kw mark atws

For the money and power. Id go B18c2 on stock internals and around 6-8 psi!

True but, it's hard to find a good B18C2. It'll handle boost fine? I'm just worried that I might shift at a high rpm and snap something

Many poeple have boosted the teg VTIR. You have to lower the vtec. And have no more then 8 psi. Tuned accordingly and a oil cooler if the turbos oil cooled!

Hm. Well the C2s aren't really around ATM from what I can see.

The B18B is looking good, and from what I researched the like boost.

B18B will probably be $1,000-2,000 cheaper than any of those other engines you mentioned, and once it's turbo'd you'll be laughing. C2 is probably the best option admittedly because of the long ratios being similar to the B2 and it has VTEC, but at the end of the day once you're turbo'd you won't care at all.

B18B has the same exhaust ports as the other B-series. Intake ports I'm not sure you'd have to confirm with somebody else. Internals are most likely different (camshafts clearly are).

I vote go for the B18B.
