If your dash cam does not need +5v power you can just you wire and a DC jack to connect to it.

The camera is a Uniden iGo CAM 300.

It can record at 1920x1080, has motion sensing and it is small, it does NOT have a GPS but it is a good basic camera.
You can get some blocking on the road and the upper dash in low light.
The Infra red LEDs are useless and they do not light up anything that is more than 1m in front(they are low powered ones)

This guide applys to any dashcam really.

As for the civic sedan, i do not know what it's internal fusebox looks like or even if it has the option connector on it, but you can tap another ignition powered source.

This is a guide on the pinouts on the 8th gen civic hatch option connector
It can be used for reverse cameras, dash cams, and DRLs.

This guide can be also applied to the new 8.5gen civic, note you do NOT NEED A FUSE anymore, FUSE 27 controls something else as per Bog from civinfo (http://www.civinfo.com/forum/1669909-post49.html), the option connector is located on MICU1
