You will need DC2R/EG6 Rear lower control arms.

You will need DC2R/EG6 Rear lower camber arms.

He means lower control arms

Everything else will bolt up fine otherwise

This is correct, front is the same, rear needs lower control arms, then it fits. I'm actually debating this or just coil overs right now.

Wtf lmao

I'm debating which way to go with my suspension. Sorry if I was unclear. Seriously though, by the time you go down that pathway it seems like you end up with a pretty similar price just to a coil over kit. Thinking do it once and just get adjustable coilovers. I'm just thinking you buy all the shit you need to build DC2R suspension kit and probably need to buy new shocks anyway at this stage, even if you find this all at a wreckers or similar it all starts to add up, can get full coilover kit for $650 new. You might get lucky and do it cheaper but really is it worth it at this stage?

Maybe I'm pessimistic maybe this is reality, that you need more than just what you pay for to begin with, or say all of a sudden you want a different spring rate then again, you run into the same issue, you might find DC2R suspension bits for eff all, but then it's all the other things.

Makes me think, just do it once and you wont regret it later.

Lol the choice of coilover is directly depends on if your gonna swap the arms out or not.

If you ask, I would. Just low ball some kunt from gumtree one will take the bite for the arm.

Also a $650 coilover.... Ill be honest I havn't owned a set worth less then 1.5k, but i tell you the coilovers that cost me 1.5k new were shit. Its a well branded one too.

With your $650, just buy the arms and stock dc2r sussy for now. Save up for a better setup.

Whatever the case may be, anyway, I've built coil overs myself in my time, they worked out fine for the purpose. Cheap shit is always cheap shit, at the end of the day its a DC4 and it really can't be much worse than the springs that are in there. At the end of the day its not even how much you pay, a good sleeve kit and doing yourself costs fvck all. Yes I hear what you say, do your own research first but this shit is hardly decisive of how much money you spend.

Of course the choice of suspension at some later date is going to depend on whether you go to DC2 type or not, that's not even rocket science, or even really rudimentary. In the end putting this decision as it is. Upgrade to DC2R suspension is practically pointless. Spend more, get some BC Racing or whatever if you want to go cheap and a decent brand, or whatever, Tein Basis runs at around $800 if you want to just go low and maintain stock ride compliance.

Other than that if you've got a welder just build your own and get some decent shocks, a kit will cost you even less.

Fvckin wish I had a job, at this point, just living on student welfare and bank balance... Might be like this for a while yet, can't just indiscriminately throw $1200 at my car.

I wouldnt buy $650 dollar coilovers and expect them to be too good.

Kings springs for cheap lowering.

Kings springs for cheap lowering.

Lowred springs on stock shocks is a bad idea. The shocks will be less effective and will die a lot sooner.

Maybe lowering slightly is okay, but king super lows for example does not end well on stock shocks. (Ask me how I know).

Hehe... so tempting... Not like I don't have money, just don't know where next money is coming from yet so I'm acting like a Jew which is also clouding my better judgment.

Yeah, i wouldnt use stock shocks with drasticly lowered springs.

King springs with monroe shocks dont cost much though.

u mad?

Yep. Can also confirm that DC2R stock suspension behaves very differently to vtir/GSi stock suspension

oem dc2r susp is a good upgrade on a budget. Costs you barely anything and you get a slight drop compared to standard dc2/4 suspension. Entry level coilovers ~1.3k like bc br i wouldnt say are great but does the job, wouldnt spend anything less than that on coilovers tbh. And yes stock shocks on lowered springs shorten the life span dramatically.
